I believe that happiness is a choice and so is much misery. I’m not a big TV watcher because of the negative bias that exists in the current generation of TV programs, especially the news. The educational channel and Turner TV are the best exceptions for me. This morning, my nephew sent me a photo album (via facebook) of METV programming of past generations’ TV shows. It is refreshing to know that I can get programs with positive humor, less violent adventure and mystery programs, as well as programs that touch your heart and mind and inspire you. In essence, I’m choosing to avoid some parts of our culture that cause pessimism and choosing ways to maintain optimism and foster an attitude of gratitude. Those choices help me to find some of the happiness I seek.

Sometimes there are too many choices.
