A lot has happened since we began our weekly journey last Thursday to celebrate being thankful at least once a week, hasn’t it?
A tragedy felt by our entire nation, personal disappointments, the reality of death, and getting caught up in the day to day hustle and bustle of the season, are a few of the distractions that can take us away from being and expressing our gratitude for life itself.
Still there is no reason to give up on creating a new attitude of thankfulness; because the world needs to see it in each of us. It is valuable to the healing and being able to become stronger to face what may lie in store for us in 2013.
I noticed one thing as I was intentionally sharing the simple words of “thank you” in my day to day world. People look at you as if they had never heard the words before, and they do not know how to respond or what to say!
What do you say when someone thanks you for anything? Have you heard the words “you’re welcome” lately? Haven’t seen it in a text, or on Facebook, or even on LinkedIn, have you?
As we fix to put the last minute touches on our holiday season, isn’t it amazing that we can rediscover the simple power of the words “thank you” and “you’re welcome?”
I challenge you this week of Christmas to add these words back into your vocabulary, and see what happens in your business, and personal lives.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us here at “Simply” Sue Speaks!
Thanks for your support and help, and we look forward to: “Being heard and seen in 2013?” How about you?
Thank You,
“Simply” Sue
