5 tips on leading by example6501. FAITH ~ Live it!

You must have your priorities straight in your OWN life to be a good example to others.
Put God first, family second and work third…yes, third. IN THAT ORDER!
Be real with yourself, God is everywhere…it’s not as if you walk in the door at work and leave Him outside. You take God with you everywhere you go; Matthew 5 (MSG) says:

13 “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.

14-16 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

In other words, the REAL PURPOSE of EVERYTHING YOU DO is to glorify God! We are called to reflect God’s nature. Balance is key. God calls us into relationship with Him first, the people He puts in our lives 2nd. Be careful not to overlook familial relationships because you’ve taken on too much…WORK.

Can we say it again- BALANCE!

2. COMPASSION ~ Have It!

Compassion & accountability complement each other…Go the extra mile, pay it forward.
Be kind and willing to help WHEN YOU CAN. BE a Good Samaritan.

But, it bears repeating…BALANCE is KEY!

Know when to set healthy boundaries AND when to say NO when you should. (more on this in an upcoming blog post)

YOU CAN…BE KIND and Compassionate…Go the extra mile…AND.. maintain a healthy balance in your life!

Believe it or not, you were not “Called to Do it all!”

3. RESPECT ~ Show It!

A foundation of mutual respect leads to open communication & meaningful relationships.
ALWAYS REMEMBER– We reap what we sow. Treat others how you wish to be treated because what goes around comes back around again.

4. COMMITMENT ~ Keep It!

Keep a commitment for continued growth and development! EVERYONE has the ability to fulfill their God-given destiny successfully.
  • Create blueprints for success…provide context for growth.
  • Guide others to the discovery of their higher purpose.
  • Never stop building relationships.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (MSG) says:

It’s better to have a partner than go it alone.
Share the work, share the wealth.
And if one falls down, the other helps,
But if there’s no one to help, tough!

We are all works in progress.

5. BE BOLD ~ Fear Not!

We are not necessarily bold by nature- one of the reasons ‘FEAR NOT!’ is one of the most repeated thoughts in scripture… When struggling with this fact, it’s important to draw close to God. Don’t avoid the difficult decisions- push through, knowing who you are ultimately working with, and for!
